Sally joins the team

Sally Moses has joined The Gild as a Consultant. She comes with seven years’ experience, learning the trade flying all over the world to deliver global brand strategy and insight projects, to a wide range of clients including Unilever, PZ Cussons and Ideal Standard.

Working primarily in the FMCG world, she has worked hard on creating elegant and strategically rigorous branding solutions for clients. The Gild presents a new and exciting opportunity for her to build on this experience and apply her strategic brain to problem solving in a more design-oriented environment.

She has also become our new in-house translator and cultural navigator, having worked as a linguist and spent two years teaching Spanish and French .

On her odd days off, Sally can be found pounding the streets and parks of London in her running shoes or indulging her foodieness sampling the capital’s latest food and drink trends. Her top tip is the fabulous Stolen Supper Club in Notting Hill.

Sony Ericsson hires The Gild for lead branding role

We are excited to announce that we’ve been hired by Sony Ericsson to lead its brand strategy, architecture and guidelines as it evolves its Xperia smartphone brand and makes the transition to become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sony.

The smartphone market is one of the fastest moving categories in the world, with the pace of change set to increase as demand and technology converge, and Sony Ericsson’s Global Brand Director Allan Solomon commented:

“The partnership with The Gild will be an important strategic collaboration at an exciting time for the Sony Ericsson brand. I’m impressed with The Gild’s level of insight, commitment and the strategic solutions they aim to deliver to further strengthen the Xperia brand. The Gild combines extensive commercial and marketing experience with practical, creative and exciting executions.”

Simon, our very own MD said:

“The smartphone market is among the most dynamic sectors and it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with Sony Ericsson on this brief.”

Soundcheck – the ones to watch in 2012

Andrew Mulholland

A small central London venue. An intimate audience of just 250. Up close and personal with four completely different artists – the ones who are going to be big in 2012.

Soundcheck is The Gild’s guilty pleasure. We team-up with our friends at Vision Artists to showcase the latest and greatest music. We are interested in brand/band collaboration but with genuine synergy between the two – not because the MD wants to be involved in some music, any music!

Katrina, an LA based artist who’s single ‘Shame on Me’ was a radio and club hit in the US, was first up and rocked it. Her single will be released in the UK in the new year, followed by her album ‘In the Blink of an Eye’ which was produced by Grammy award winner Val Garay. You can catch Katrina again in February.

The Gild takes force with Voltron Merchandising Role

We have just won an exciting brief to create the first consumer product style guide for Voltron Force, Classic Media and WEP’s new TV series. It is based on iconic 80’s TV series ‘Voltron – Defender of the Universe’ and is currently on-air on Nicktoons in the US. The Gild is developing all character art, product innovation concepts as well as all consumer product packaging for the brand.

We can’t say much more than that for now, but the Creative team has had to become 4-8 year old boys…which has been fun to say the least!

Purely Cosmetic – Revlon joins The Gild’s client list

December 2011

We are very excited to announce that we are working with Revlon on its iconic Charlie brand. We can’t say much at the moment but there will be lots of exciting things happening in 2012.

Our Franci in print!

November 2011

Our Senior Planning Executive Franci was featured in last month’s Cosmopolitan Italia. Here she talks about working at The Gild, her take on creative industries and how all this compares to the Italian way. No wonder we’ve since then heard from a number of Italian girls wanting to join our team. Before we know it our office may become the new Dolce Vita this side of Little Portland Street!

Romin joins the team

November 2011

Romin Mehdizadeh has joined The Gild’s Design team. He’s worked with a number of respected studios in London, Manchester and Edinburgh including SAS Design, Start Judge Gill and Tayburn. He recently helped to establish the Start JG studio in Dubai which is enjoying rapid success.

Recent projects have included store concepts for Fred Perry, branding a series of global luxury hotels as far as China, for Jumeirah and working with some of the most respected typographers on branding the International Society of Typographic Designers Awards.

A passion for photography and music is only overshadowed by his love of being in San Francisco Bay cheering his baseball team, the Giants.

New kid on the block

September 2011

Andrew Mulholland has just joined The Gild as the Executive Client Services Director – yup, that’s a big title which basically means he’s come on board to wow current clients and woo future ones. Having previously been on the Management Board for FutureBrand, Andrew will bring a mountain of (insider?) knowledge, oh… and 20 years experience.

New client win

June 2011

We are very excited to have been appointed by Turtle Wax, the world’s largest manufacturer of car-care products, to work on an EMEA brief. The exact details of the project are being kept under wraps but working on this 70 year old brand with such heritage and influence (a 60% market share in the US) is amazing.

New client wins

May 2011

We’ve been very busy at The Gild in this first quarter and are thrilled to have won four new clients across the exciting categories of fashion, automotive, toys and makeup. We can’t say any more at the moment but watch this space.
