Charlie flies off the shelves

Remeber being 15 and daydreaming of being Kelly McGillis or Demi Moore – full of confidence and glittering as you go down the red carpet?  Believe it or not, times haven’t changed too much and today’s teens have similar dreams.  All of which Charlie body spray wanted to capture and bottle.

With our help!  We were tasked with creating a new varient name and design which encapsulated the childhood desire of ‘iconic desire’.

Now on shelf, the design has managed to gain the highest ‘intention to purchase’ scores ever seen by a new Revlon launch.  Great news.

Ivan arrives

Ivan Lee has joined us as a Designer, all the way from Dundee, Scotland becoming the only Chinese member of staff at The Gild with a thick Scottish accent. He has been living and working in London for the past four years working on a wide range of clients including gray Goose, Barcardi, De Beers, Burberry and many more.

Working predominantly in print and branding he is used to taking things from briefing all the way to completion. He has a ‘geeky fetish’ for paper stock and collecting lovely printed materials from random shops.

You can find Ivan in East London at the weekends hanging out in The Bird Cage, Columbia Road on karaoke night doing his fine cover of Dignity by Deacon Blue.

And along came Jossie…

Jossie Clayton joins us as our new Senior Planning Manager after three years experience in brand positioning, strategy, insight and innovation. She’s travelled all over the world in pursuit of helping clients to think about their brands as value creators for their business. She’s passionate about creating solutions which have enduring, visionary relevance vs. short-term quick wins.

Her main clients have been within the FMCG, retail and travel industries (Boots, British Airways, Heinz and Royal Caribbean to name a few). She’s now excited about being immersed in The Gild’s more design-focused culture and work with its fun, fast team of eclectic minds.

When off the clock, Jossie’s interests multiply by the day: briefly a private chef, her foodie passion is ongoing and she is determined that 2012 is the year that she gets back into her tennis, finally gets a handicap at golf and goes to twice the amount of galleries, theaters and countries than she did last year. She also wants to refresh the Spanish which she realised on a work trip last year has become a bit too rusty. And in between? You’ll find her walking along the river with a giant cup of tea and copy of Vogue in hand.

Emma joins the team

Emma Hunter has recently joined us as Marketing Coordinator. Originally from Edinburgh, Emma graduated from Nottingham University with a degree in Art History. After various marketing positions both with agency and client , including working on the M&S account and Silversea (luxury yachting vacations and super-expensive cruises), Emma developed a real interest in brands and the strategy behind successful campaigns/relationships. Which is why she wanted to join us!

Outside of the office, Emma has a huge love for art and gets to as many exhibitions as possible as well as going to life drawing classes. She also has a passion for music of all sorts – house/techno/indie/rock as well as an unhealthy love for 80s music, so much time is spent going to gigs and seeing DJs. She also enjoys writing and contributes to friends’ blogs and reviews music or art when she gets the chance. She also loves to travel and has decided that the next stop is Cuba.

Exposure wins Best Integrated Campaign with Bulmers

Huge congrats to our colleagues at Exposure for winning Best Integrated Campaign 2011 at the MAA Best Awards for Bulmers.

According to the judges:

“The Bulmers activity was founded on the insight that people interested in buying their cider are experimenters who like to try new things. This was combined with very singular-minded brand assets championing Bulmers as being innovative with pioneering flavors. Driving this through so many channels cut through the market and delivered the sales they hoped they would achieve. It was very well done and ticked all the boxes that we wanted to see from an integrated campaign.”

Well done guys.
